Tourism Assignment Solution

Sustainable tourism is defined as the improvement of quality of life in the local community, better experience for tourists and maintaining the quality of the tourist destination. The basis on which sustainable tourism development policies are designed is that resources on which tourism depends are conserved and strengthened. It considers into effect the present and future environmental, economic and social impact on tourism and the site.  This project adopts a holistic approach considering the tourist area, local community and tourists. Though, it is connected to the national or state tourism development, this project focuses on a single destination. This is a localised and small-sized project covering local or regional boundary

This project aims to retain the past glory of the site through the present conservation measures to be passed on to the future generation. As the tourism activity is regionalised, the existence of an equitable opportunity in the national scale is negligible. Applying systems thinking approach helps in understanding various components involved in site conservation and its necessity for the future. This project requires a system approach, as its success depends on the involvement of sub-systems such as national and local governments, tourists and local community.

This project seeks to ensure maximum protection of these monuments and its utilisation for tourism based on the 4Cs – compromise, commitment, control and co-operation. As tourism is considered an economic activity, this project has to strike a balance between monetary benefits and conservation measures. As a significant portion of the project is dependent on policy decisions of the national and local governments, there is a need for co-operation among all the stakeholders involved. This project has to ensure the necessary control measures are in place for its effectiveness regulating the scope and the areas involved. It has to ensure that actionable items are achieved in time to ensure preservation as well as tourism development of the site.

This project involves a range of stakeholders for its effectiveness– government, regulatory bodies, and business enterprises in the hospitality sector, local residents, visitors and special interest groups. These stakeholders influence the sustainability of the tourism development through different modes such as contribution to tourism supply and demand, legal aspects, management and research activities and human resources.

The project aims to impact economic, societal and ecological values in a balanced approach and hence require it to be adaptable. Adaptation in turn requires the balancing of tourism development and conservation of the site. Any imbalance will have an adverse effect on the intended target…………
